The Horses of Light

In the Four Zoas, and perhaps elsewhere a primary figure used by Blake for the Fall was Urizen's transfer of the Sun (emblem of Spirit and Light) to Luvah. This may have been taken perhaps from the Greek myth of Icarus.

The Sun of course represents the Spirit and the Moon materiality. Urizen of course represents thinking and Luvah feeling.

We find it a number of times:

1)
Luvah is said to have stolen Urizen's horses of light (Night 1: 10.13; E305)
