The serpent appears often in the Bible and just as often in Blake:

Genesis 3 King James Version (KJV)

3 Now the serpent was more subtil than any beast of the field which the Lord 

God had made. And he said unto the woman, 

Yea, hath God said, Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden?

² And the woman said unto the serpent, We may eat of the fruit of the trees of the garden:
 ³ But of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God hath said, 
Ye shall not eat of it, neither shall ye touch it, lest ye die.
⁴ And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die:
  ⁵ For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be 
opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil.

Exodus 4 (Moses meets God at the Burning Bush)

 1 And Moses answered and said, But, behold, they will not believe me, nor 

hearken unto my voice: for they will say, The Lord hath not appeared unto thee.

² And the Lord said unto him, What is that in thine hand? And he said, A rod.
³ And he said, Cast it on the ground. And he cast it on the ground, and it became 
a serpent; and Moses fled from before it.

Numbers 21
 And the people spake against God, and against Moses, Wherefore have ye 
brought us up out of Egypt to die in the wilderness? for there is no bread, 
neither is there any water; and our soul loatheth this light bread.
⁶ And the Lord sent fiery serpents among the people, and they bit the people; 
and much people of Israel died.
 ⁷ Therefore the people came to Moses, and said, We have sinned, for we have 
 spoken against the Lord, and against thee; pray unto the Lord, that he take 
away the serpents from us. And Moses prayed for the people.

⁸ And the Lord said unto Moses, Make thee a fiery serpent, and set it upon a 
pole: and it shall come to pass, that every one that is bitten, when he looketh 
upon it, shall live.
And Moses made a serpent of brass, and put it upon a pole, and it came to 
pass, that if a serpent had bitten any man, when he beheld the serpent of brass, 
he lived.

 Isaiah 27:1
In that day the LORD with his sore and great and strong sword shall punish leviathan the piercing serpent, even leviathan that crooked serpent; and he shall slay the dragon that is in the sea.

Job 26

¹² He divideth the sea with his power, and by his understanding he smiteth through the proud.

¹³ By his spirit he hath garnished the heavens; his hand hath formed the crooked serpent.

Matthew 10

¹⁶ Behold, I send you forth as sheep in the midst of wolves: be ye therefore wise 
as serpents, and harmless as doves.
 
At the end of Mark (16) Jesus said  Go ye into all the world, and preach the 
gospel to every creature..........
 They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt 
 them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.
